I'm in Kentucky!

Peace out LA....hellooooo Kentucky!

Those were pretty much my last words in LA. You see, I love LA. It's one of the best cities in the world and it was my home for the past 4.5 years. But alas, when opportunity comes a knockin'...you gotta answer it and move your entire life to Bowling Green, Kentucky...which is exactly what I did for a job.

Kentucky is, to say the least, different from California.

PROS
1) clean air
2) no traffic - I drive 60 mph down regular streets and can cut across town in 15 minutes
3) a lot of space for a little rent - $489/month for a 700 square foot one bedroom, one bath apartment
4) quaint - people say ma'am, sir, please, thank you

CONS
1) dry - my skin is falling apart
2) doesn't have nice California sun - I'm missing those rays of sunshine
3) little to do at night and on Sundays - things close at 7 pm Monday to Saturday and don't even open Sunday

But, you know what? I'm actually really loving it. It helps that I love my job (I produce evening newscasts at WBKO and report on the weekend) and I love the people at my station. Everyone has asked me how I'm adjusting and were just so great while I was moving and settling in.

And of course it helps that, for some reason, Bowling Green has an intense concentration of restaurants! I know San Francisco, LA, New York probably have the highest restaurant to people ratios...but sometimes I feel like Bowling Green could just beat them (because the low population works in that favour). I, amazingly, haven't gone out to each that much but I'm happy that I found myself in a good situation :)
