Sights and Sounds of Kelowna

My station got me an iPhone so I can do web stuff while I'm out in the field. It's been great. I can take pictures of stories I'm working on and then immediately put them up on Twitter or Facebook.

It's also great because now I understand why people love the iPhone. It's everything in one! I don't need to carry my camera around anymore because I can just use the iPhone. And look at the quality! I took all the pictures below with the iPhone. I used to hate on people who were obsessed with their iPhones but damn it, I can see why now...

This is an apple fair that happened this past weekend at the mall. There were 30 different varieties (most of them quite scrumptious might I add) and apparently some of them were "experimental" apple breeds that they haven't properly named yet, with names like "SP550" or something to that effect.

The best part about my job is how I get to go to different events and happenings around town. Like this, I got to film the local hockey team, the Kelowna Rockets, play a US team. It was a three-in-one: I worked, I got to watch hockey (how I missed thee while I was in the States) and I got to check out Prospera Place, which is where they have all the concerts and shows
(i.e. Elton John!!)

Marathon runners get ready to begin the BMO Okanagan Marathon. Marathons are always interesting to cover. You meet really cool people, and there's a definite vibe in the air of
athleticism and adrenaline. The only downside is they kick off really early so I was
up at 6 am just to get the kick-off!
