And the cold arrives...

Downtown Kelowna after the first snowfall of the year! The snow is pretty and pristine...but then it turns to slush and mush and yeah...not so pretty after that...

Wood Lake just on the outskirts of Kelowna. I don't think I would take a dip in that this time of year, egads. But it's a pretty view eh?

Temperatures below zero, snow, scarfs, mittens and toques...all are signs that winter has arrived in Canada. But you know what else marks the start of the winter/holiday season? Gingerbread houses! Ah I only made my first gingerbread house last year with my sister. It was pretty superb if I can say so myself :) But alas, they were nothing compared with these houses that were submitted to a local gingerbread competition:
