Last year, my Christmas was nice and balmy. I wore t-shirts and jeans, went out with a light sweater. Christmas in California is almost an oxymoron because Christmas is supposed to be cold and wintery but California, let's face it, is paradise with its palm trees and mild weather.
Well Christmas 2010 is going to be on the other end of the spectrum for me. Temperatures in Kelowna are hovering around zero to just below zero, not too cold but cold enough. We've had a couple big snowfalls; they usually melt quickly but they can be vicious and create slippery conditions on the roads. Nevertheless, even if there is no snow on the ground, there is the ever-present slush and mush combo.
It's been tough to re-adjustment to winter. I used to pride myself on being able to handle the cold and handle the snow but moving to California really pansy-ed me out. Well now it's time to redeem myself. I have bulked up my winter wardrobe with quite possible the cutest toque ever, a thick scarf, two sets of mittens/gloves and hard-core winter boots. And I'm ready to tackle whatever winter brings me this year...or at least I think I am...
