Deep fry party

Have you ever gone to a state fair or something like the CNE, seen the deep fried foods and said "no way Jose"? Why would you deprive yourself of having that kind of happiness? I see people eating salads and I think to myself, why are you eating like a rabbit? Life is too short to not have fun with your food. Now I'm not endorsing eating fatty foods all the time, everything in moderation, so once in a while why not?

The other night, my friends and I were having a(nother) BBQ and it all started with a few words: wouldn't this be awesome if it were deep fried? And with that, it began. One friend, who is quite masterful in the kitchen, whipped up some beer batter, heated a pot of oil and tah dah! A deep fry party it is!

Can you guess what this is?

It's a deep fried cherry! And it's SO good! Imagine a cherry pie...
but in the form of a deep fried cherry.

Once you start, it's a little hard to stop deep frying things. It starts with one item, for us it was a cherry. Next thing we knew, we were deep frying Tim Tams (an Australian biscuit) and then cookies! Yes, these items were probably not that healthy before they were deep fried, imagine how bad they were after. And I probably knocked 20 years off my life, but oh well, it was worth it. The Tim Tams were awesome and tasted a bit like deep fried chocolate. The deep fried cookie almost tasted like deep fried cookie dough. It was mushy and melty and oh so good!

The cherries in the bottom right, the cookie on the bottom left and the Tim Tam up top!
