My first day in Vancouver was like a crash course in the city's downtown. I wandered up and down Robson Street and all over downtown courtesy of a friend who needed to buy Canucks tickets. Here are some snapshots:

Checking out the competition! CTV doing a live shot on Robson Street. I think this was for the 5 o'clock news.

The people in this shot look incredibly awkward. This is the library in downtown Vancouver, pre-riots.

A shot of the Rogers Arena. This is of course where all the Stanley Cup playoff games took place. And again, this is where all the riots stuff unfolded after game 7.

Checking out the steam clock in Gastown. It steams on the hour and then hoots for every hour. There was a whole crowd standing around it waiting for the hoot. And of course tons of tourists like myself waiting to take a picture in front of the hooting clock.

Canucks gear was the only way to go while I was in Vancouver. Even on a non-game day, people were wearing Canucks attire! And a lot of the people wearing them were business-y people who wore dress pants and nice shoes.
