Keep in mind I haven't been inside any Asian malls for the good part of the year. In Vancouver, I popped into an Asian mall to a) eat delicious food court foods and b) buy those little knick knacks that you just can't find in white people malls. Exhibit A: a neato soap holder.
But I digress, the best thing about Asian malls sometimes if just how ridiculous they can be. Exhibit B: a Hello Kitty necklace:
I also tremendously missed awesome Asian snacks like the one below. I don't even know what the English name is for it, let's just liken it to tasty bubble wrap. I had never before seen an inflatable version of it! I wish I could have bought it to hang up in my apartment:

A quick walk down from the UBC campus is this awesome beach. Mind you, it's normally a nudist beach. It was overcast the day we went (thankfully? unfortunately?) but it was still super pretty and it just felt nice to be close to the ocean again:

An enormous pelican and his seagull friend. Aww...

You know what's not cute though? The intense staircase leading you from the UBC campus to the beach. It was nice on the way down...not so much on the way back up. It might have been a little better if this trio of ridiculously fit people didn't lap us both on the way down and the way up.
