Trying to find the children's fishing pond

When my sister was in town, we decided we wanted to go on a hike. After a day of fatty eating, however, that idea evolved into taking a stroll instead. So rather than climb up the hills in East Kelowna, we ended up taking a walk around Mission Creek Park, which is smack in the middle of Kelowna.

We essentially started wandering around the park and suddenly found ourselves seeing all these signs that were pointing people towards a children's fishing pond. First off, I love the signs, look how cute the fish are! Secondly, we were like, well we don't have a destination right now, might as well make it ours.

And so the walk began. It wasn't a very steep walk, it was more like a leisurely stroll. We saw lots of cool trees and found ourselves suddenly in a very quiet spot in town. Not that Kelowna is a huge bustling city, but there is some city noise so to find it nice and quiet and serene, it took a second to get used to it.

We saw these bushes during our stroll and my sister, being the curious type of person she is, was like, what are these? They looked like blueberries but I didn't think we should test our luck with them so I said we should just leave them alone. My sister decides that what I am actually telling her is to actually pick them from the bush and squish them to see what they are. This leaves her with a blue stain on her fingers for the rest of the hike and me with a point-and-laugh situation, it was awesome.

And tah dah! We made it to the children's fishing pond! And we actually saw some kids/teens with fishing poles so I guess they really do come here to fish!
